I have been blessed by God. I have been blessed with His hand guiding me through the sometimes rough waters of life. I have been blessed through my introduction to Him. And through my knowing Him, I have been blessed by being surrounded by a community of people who have, throughout the course of my life, taught me how to love like Jesus.

I've been told the Persians have a Farsi word for loving people that means "it's as easy as drinking water." To me that means not only is it easy, but it is essential to life. Loving people is essential to life just as allowing others to love you is essential to theirs.

I've recently been presented with many, many things I've been praying for at different times in my life. I've had all of these things set before me by my God. In His abundance, He has chosen to bless me. And for all of this, and so much more, I am thankful.

God is good. All the time. God is good.

Allow me to introduce you...

The fabulously gay boy at work introduced me to Jeanette MacDonald a couple weeks ago. Since I watched my first clip of her on YouTube, I haven't been able to get enough of her movies. Not to mention the fact that they're black and white, witty, and desperately charming.

For those of you who don't know, this is Jeanette MacDonald:

So classic. So awesome. So beautiful.

In the height of her career in the '30s, she did quite a few movies with a man named Nelson Eddy. She was also linked to him in her personal life, which probably explains why she and Eddy had such good on-screen chemistry. Here are a few of my favourite shots of the two of them I've found:

As well as being a Hollywood actress, she was a regular on Broadway, and also trained as an opera singer. Seriously, who does that anymore? She's timeless, and her voice is flawless. The end.
